A special note from the webmaster...

Okay, so you found this page. Frankly I'm impressed. I tried to hide it pretty well, but I guess that you had too much time on your hands.

Anyway, you may have noticed that Brian's site is simply awesome, and let me tell you, he deserves it. How do I know? Trust me on this. I've known Brian for as long as he has been doing magic.

So who am I? Now that is a question that many people ponder for their entire lives, so I doubt that I could answer this with any real certainty. Oh, you mean my identity? You'll have to suffer with a few stories before I reveal it.

To say that Brian is my best friend would be an understatement. Brian probably knows me better than anyone, except maybe my wife and my father.

Brian had been doing his site all by himself for so long. He spent hours, days, weeks working on the thing and it never really showed what he could do as a magician. I teased him about it for years, considering that I'm practically a legend (ahem!) in the web design field. Okay, maybe I overstated the whole legend thing, but I do have a bit of a cult following. Okay, so that is about three other people, but I can dream.

Frankly, dreams are what made both of our lives so special. As a kid, everyone wondered what Brian would really do with his life, figuring this whole magic thing was a passing phase. As it turns out, the phase has yet to pass.

Anyway, once he finally let me do his site for him, I decided that I was going to make it about as much fun as it could be while still being professional. I don't think that he realized how detailed that I would be, but it has become a good excuse for us to have lunch together to discuss business. (We talk business for about 11 seconds to get the tax write-off.) I don't know where I found time to do this in the midst of my busy schedule, but somehow I managed.

So, let me share with you a little story...

When we were in the ninth grade, Brian showed up on my doorstep in his pajamas early one Saturday morning. His parents had asked him to take a picture of the group of friends that was about to go away for the weekend. He rolled out of bed, took their pictures, handed them their cameras and waved good-bye as they drove away. Fortunately (at least for this story), his parents had locked the door to the house before they left, leaving Brian home alone for the weekend, with his house keys on the wrong side of the door. I only wish that I had video of Brian walking across Springdale Road in his pajamas to put on this site. Needless to say, he eventually got back in his house, but we have laughed about this one ever since.

Why have I taken the trouble to write this page? There are very few people on this planet that I would trust fully and completely. Brian is one of them. Brian is not just a great magician, he is a great human being. The funny thing about our friendship is that we have never agreed on politics or religion. In fact, we are probably about as different on politics and religion as you can possibly be. The great thing is, we can talk about these things and fervently disagree on issues. In spite of our differences, we are fantastic friends. Brian sets the standard for friendship in my book, so the least I could do is give him a killer website.

I doubt that Brian will ever find this page, but it isn't really here for him. It is here for me, to remind myself about how important friendship is. Part of me wants Brian to find this page at some point, but he already knows everything that I wrote here.

So...

Brian, thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me do this favor for you.
