A Magic Show Promoting Healthy Eating & Exercise
Starring Magician Brian Richards
With child obesity at an all-time high and the federal government calling it a serious epidemic, it is time for a magic show that will encourage children to eat right and get the proper exercise. That is why we have teamed up with the New Jersey Department Of Health & Senior Services and the 5-A-Day Coalition to present this 45 minute educational assembly. 5-A-Day is a national program, created by the Produce For Better Health Association and endorsed by the American Cancer Foundation to promote the importance of eating at least 5 fruits and vegetables per day. A healthy diet of colorful fruits and vegetables, along with protein and exercise, has been proven to reduce the risk of heart disease, obesity, cancer, and other disease. More importantly, it has been proven to help children grow into healthy adults.
In this 45 minute assembly, children will learn about the 5 colors of fruits of fruits and vegetables and why they are so good for you. They will also learn about what makes a serving and some creative ways to make sure that they get their 5 servings a day. They will also learn about the importance of moderation and balance, including protein and dairy. Every performance features magic, comedy, audience participation, and fun for grades Pre-K and up.
Though this program is great any time of the year, it is especially great for National 5-A-Day Month (September) and Child Health Month (October).
